About New Orleans..the real story

Let’s get real here….a lot of out of towners have been fooled into thinking if Katrina and the resulting flood did not flood a property, then it will never flood.

The reality is much of New Orleans floods all the time. This means don’t ask the question, “Did it flood during Katrina?” The question to ask is “How much did it flood in the last 10 years?”  Not all areas flood..one needs to pay close attention to the location of the property relative to levees, the river and cemetaries.

On this site you can find out actual information about properties, from taxes to ownership and empower yourself to stay clear of the "hearsay" monstors..those people who are not licensed professionals who think they know everything.  That fact remains that our current real estate market is much like the open waters in the Gulf of Mexico...this website aims to help make sure you are riding the waves in the right direction.

STUPID "THEORIES" ABOUT NEW ORLEANS

Theory #1: Scary people. Well, don’t be afraid, because most people here are not scary, no matter what you hear. The New New Orleans of 2007 is a culture of peoples from all over the world…where Middle and Far Eastern, Caribbean, Central and South American and Eastern Europeans, most first generation have made here home, together with all their associated restaurants, cultures, festivals, skilled laborers....oh, yes….and then there are those other locals we better known as Americans….but by definition only...some appear to be African American, or Caucasian, but be careful, for their accents, their food, their love of each others bright music and dark coffee may throw the outsider’s theories created by some random CNN report to the wayside.

Theory #2: Drunk folks in the quarter acting crazy taking off their clothes on stinky streets.  We can’t help if most of the country is depressed and frustrated with all their suburbia disconnects. We tolerate the intolerable, hope some just go away leaving their money, and share a drink with the rest. And the quarter?  It's clean...very clean...no garbage piles up anymore, no more disgusting scenes of stuff on the ground.  And Royal, Magazine and Julia Street's are bringing in new artists from around the world.

Theory #3: The whole city looks like the 9th ward…well…not exactly. We are a place positioned to experience great growth, where Grand Victorians are getting long overdue facelifts, and one can sense history seeping through the walls, the doors and more.   Old, established neighbourhoods are coming back stronger than ever before creating part of the renaissance of this great port city.

Why buy New Orleans? People love this city for all sorts of reasons For over 400 years, this has been a Pirates town…it has …it is a Caribbean City, sometimes it is a South American city…all kinds of characters come here…and many stay.  Be one of those people in a place in America where a sense of place still exists, where the sounds of Jazz permeates the air, and the aromas of creole cooking stirs up your senses like no where else.
